Good Friends and Tacos! What could be better! Friends supplied dinner for the residents of the Rosenbaum Family House on June 29. Friends, in conjunction with Volunteer Services, provided cooked and served a wonderful taco bar for families of patients. It was a big hit and the residents were grateful for a homecooked meal.
“Pure Imagination” was the theme for this year’s WVU Hospitals’ employee picnic. Our ladies in Volunteer Services did not disappoint this year. Friends sponsored their booth with a $600 donation and they did a fantastic job!
Friends also presented donations to various patient programs throughout the hospital. $2,500 was awarded to the HVI Advanced Heart Failure Team to supply blood pressure cuffs and scales to patients who are in need. Another $2,500 was awarded to the John Michael Moore Trauma Unit and $2000 to Care Management.
“Wash on Wheels” is a new service provided to our patients. It is a portable beauty salon. Volunteers go to a patient’s room and provide salon services. This includes washing, drying and styling of patients’ hair. Sometime the best medicine is a new do! Friends sponsored this service with a $2000 donation. We are happy to be a part of making patients feel a bit better with a little special care!
